250g ibhotela noma imajarini

1¼    inkomishi yashukela

2       amaqanda

1-2    amathisipuni e-essence e-almond (kuya ngokuthi kuzwakala kanjani)

 

Indlela yokwenza

1.    Sefa ufulawa, uphawuda wokubhaka nosawoti esitsheni esikhulu. Beka eceleni.

2.    Esitsheni esikhulu yenza ukhilimu ngebhotela noma imajarini kahle, kancane yengeza ushukjela, ukushaye kuze kukhanye kube sakhilimu.

3.    Yengeza amaqanda ngalinye ngesikhathi. Hlanganisa kahle.

4.    Yengeza i-essence ye-almond. Hlanganisa kahle.

5.    Yengeza izithako ezisefiwe ezomile, ufake isipuni esingcwele esikhulu ngesikhathi ukuhlanganise ngokucophelela kuze izithako ezomile zihlangane kahle.

6.    Goqa inhlama encane ibe amabhola angama-cm amabili. Faka ethiliyeni lokubhaka. Cindezela phansingemfologo.

7.    Beka icherry ngaphezulu ubhake ku-170C imizuzu 8-10 ize ibe sagolide

8.    Kupholise kwi rack ewuwaya bese ufaka esitsheni esivaleka nci.

 Ngesikhathi saKhisimusi yenza inhlanhla ibe 3mm ubukhulu, endaweni enofulawa kancane. Sebenzisa into yokusika ama-cookie ukuze wenze amabhisikidi. Ungakhohlwa ama cherry naluhlaza nawo!!

 

A most suitable Christmas tea morsel!

Makes 60 biscuits

Preheat oven to 170 C°

Spray and Cook or grease a large baking sheet

Ingredients

4       cups flour

1       teaspoon baking powder

1       teaspoon fine salt

250 g butter or margarine

1 ¼    cups sugar

2       eggs

1 – 2   teaspoons almond essence (according to taste)

Method

1.    Sift flour, baking powder and salt into a large bowl. Set aside.

2.    In a large bowl cream the butter or margarine well, gradually adding sugar, beating until light and creamy.

3.    Add the eggs one at a time. Mix well.

4.    Add the almond essence. Mix well.

5.    Add the sifted dry ingredients a large spoonful at a time, mixing gently and thoroughly until all the dry ingredients have been well incorporated.

6.    Roll bits of dough into 2 cm balls. Place on the baking tray. Press down gently with a fork.

7.    Place a cherry on top and bake at 170 C° for 8 – 10 minutes until slightly golden.

8.    Cool on a wire rack and store in an airtight container.

Tip: At Christmastime roll out dough to 3 mm thickness on a lightly floured surface.  Use cookie cutter shapes to create biscuits. Don’t forget the cherries...green ones too!!!
